I grew up in the old fishing port of Poole in Dorset. Much of my work is a reflection of those happy, carefree days roaming the working harbour and white sandy beaches with my three siblings. We adventured around the cobbled streets of the old town getting up to all sorts of mischief; playing with silvery, flapping fish on the quayside, crabbing on the harbour and searching for cockles in the bay.
MY JOURNEY
I originally trained as a Potter, creating free-form objects and wheel-thrown ceramics but I also enjoy working in other disciplines and love swapping from one to another - hence the interesting mix. I still have a day job but somehow manage to squeeze my arty activities into the week.
My Goosey & Co. art is from my imagination and over time I've added a few of his friends, the birds, foxy and a little girl named Tilly.
SHEDQUARTERS
I’m fortunate enough to have a little work space of my own at the bottom of the garden. A while ago I awarded myself a shed, initially as a little retreat from the hustle and bustle of the house but have since taken it over as a workshop/studio.
Best of all it has a great view of the garden!
